What to do, step by step →
Cyber Crime Help Desk An initiative from Kramate for Society

Individuals

You were not foolish. You were targeted by people who do this all day.

Job scams charge "registration" or "visa" fees for jobs that do not exist, or pay small amounts for tasks before locking a large deposit. Matrimonial and romance scams build trust over weeks before the emergency, the customs duty or the investment tip. The money moves through the same mule accounts and the same complaints apply. We file them properly and help you protect what is left.

  • 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in complaints naming every account and the profiles used
  • Document-misuse response if you shared Aadhaar, PAN, passport or bank details
  • Platform reports to the job portal, matrimonial site, dating app or social network
  • Honest advice on what can still be done and how to refuse the follow-up demands

Free first call. Fixed fee for case work, agreed before anything starts. Nothing is charged as a share of any recovery.

What happens when you contact us

  1. Tell us the story
  2. Action plan
  3. Filings and protection
  4. Closure

Signs this is what happened to you

  • A company asked for a fee for an offer letter, training, laptop, visa or "security deposit"
  • Small "task" earnings were paid, then a large deposit was required to release the balance
  • A match or partner you have never met in person asked for money for a flight, hospital, customs or gift release
  • The person claims to be a doctor, soldier, NRI or businessman abroad and video calls never quite work
  • You were guided into a trading or crypto app by someone you were in a relationship with
  • You shared ID documents, photos or bank details and now fear they will be misused

What is included

Case review

A timeline of the contact, the payments, the accounts and the identities used, built from your chats and statements, with a clear view of what is recoverable in principle and what is not.

Complaints

The 1930 call and cybercrime.gov.in complaint under the BNS cheating and personation provisions and IT Act section 66D, naming every receiving account, plus an FIR draft where needed.

Platform reports

Reports to the job portal, matrimonial site, dating app or social network with the profile evidence, so the account is removed and the platform has a record.

Document protection

If you shared Aadhaar, PAN, passport, photos or bank details: biometric lock, TAFCOP check, credit-report check and bureau alerts, and a note on what to watch for.

Bank disputes

Dispute letters for transfers made under deception with the RBI limited-liability rules cited where they apply, and requests for beneficiary and lien status.

Follow-up scam shield

A plain brief on the next approaches: the "customs officer" holding a parcel, the "recovery agent", the partner who reappears needing one last payment.

How we work

  1. Tell us the story

In your own words, with the chats and the payments. We do not judge and we have heard it before. If money moved recently, we start the 1930 complaint immediately.

  2. Action plan

Within one working day, a written list of what will be filed and what you need to send, with honest notes on likely outcomes.

  3. Filings and protection

Complaints, platform reports, bank disputes and document-protection steps completed with you, each with a reference.

  4. Closure

A written summary of what was done and what remains open. Case material is deleted on request.

What you walk away with

  • Complaints on record that name the accounts and profiles, giving the freeze process its best chance
  • Your identity documents protected against the next use
  • The scam profile reported and in most cases removed
  • Clarity on what is finished and what you would be wasting more money on

What we do not do

We would rather lose an enquiry than mislead you.

  • We do not promise recovery of any amount
  • We do not investigate or confront the person; identification is a police function
  • We do not verify prospective matches or employers as a service, though we will show you how to check the basics

Frequently asked questions

I paid a company for a job abroad and now they want more for the visa. Is it a scam?

Genuine employers do not charge candidates for offer letters, visas or deposits, and recruitment agents for overseas jobs must be registered with the Ministry of External Affairs. A demand for more money after the first payment is the clearest sign. Stop paying, preserve everything, and file the complaint; we check the agent's registration with you.

The person says they are stuck at customs with a gift for me and need Rs 45,000. They have sent a receipt.

This is the standard "parcel" stage of a romance scam, and the receipt is fake. No courier or customs office asks the recipient to pay through a personal UPI ID or account. Do not pay. If you have already paid, the complaint names those accounts and we start it today.

I earned money from the first few tasks, so how can it be a scam?

The early payouts are the bait. The platform then requires a deposit to "unlock" a bigger task or to withdraw a balance that exists only on their screen. Nobody who deposits sees the balance again. Report the Telegram group and the app, preserve the chats, and file the complaint.

I feel too embarrassed to go to the police.

You do not have to go anywhere to start. The cybercrime.gov.in complaint is online, and we draft it. If the police later need a statement, we prepare you for it. Officers at cyber cells see these cases every day; the shame belongs to the people who did this, and they count on you staying silent.

Start with what you can

How you met or were contacted, what you paid and to which accounts, and what you shared. We reply within one working day, privately.

No charge for the first conversation.
