Disclaimer

Last updated 30 October 2026

Cyber Crime Help Desk is an independent, private organisation. We are not part of, endorsed by or affiliated with the Government of India, any state government, the police, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), CERT-In, the Reserve Bank of India or any other body named on this site. Their names appear only to describe what they do and how to reach them.

Reporting a cyber crime is free

The national helpline 1930, the portal cybercrime.gov.in, Sanchar Saathi, bank fraud lines and police stations do not charge anything. You never need to pay anyone to file a complaint.

No recovery guarantees

Money lost to online fraud is recovered only when banks freeze it in time or a court orders its return. No private person or company can guarantee this. We help with the process; we do not promise the result. Anyone who promises guaranteed recovery for a fee should be reported.

Accuracy

We cite sources and date our reviews. If you find an error, write to help@example.com and we will correct it and note the correction.
