Public awareness
The call that says "your Aadhaar is linked to a crime" is the one we rehearse
Seniors are not careless; they are polite, and scammers exploit politeness. This session gives the room permission to hang up on anyone in a uniform on a video call, and gives families a plan that does not involve taking the phone away.

What participants can do afterwards
- Recognise the digital-arrest, KYC-expiry and "grandchild in trouble" scripts within the first thirty seconds
- Know that no bank, police officer, CBI, TRAI or court will ever ask for an OTP, a video call or a transfer to a "safe account"
- Have a daily UPI limit, a separate low-balance payment account and WhatsApp two-step verification set up before leaving
- Agree a family safe word and a "call back on the saved number" rule with children and grandchildren
- Know how to call 1930, what to tell them, and why a "recovery agent" who calls later is the same gang

Frequently asked questions
Many of our members do not use smartphones. Is the session still useful?
Yes. Most digital-arrest and KYC scams arrive by ordinary voice call, and a basic phone user can lose money by reading out an OTP or visiting a branch under instruction. The session separates what applies to everyone (the scripts, the call-back rule, 1930) from the smartphone set-up, which helpers do only with members who have one.
Can adult children attend with their parents?
We encourage it. The family plan segment works best when both generations agree on the safe word and the call-back rule in the same room. For online sessions, families can join from different cities. We also send a short note for children who could not attend so they know what their parents have agreed to.
Is the pace suitable for people with hearing or vision difficulties?
We use large-print slides, speak slowly, repeat the key phrases, and keep the recorded calls short with the transcript shown on screen. Onsite, we ask for a microphone and a seating plan that keeps people who need it near the front. Handouts are large-print and the numbers card is printed in 16-point type.
What does it cost?
Priced per session depending on location and group size. Senior citizens' associations, pensioners' groups and residents' welfare associations get a reduced rate, and we can run a second session for a sister society on the same day at a lower cost. Ask for a quote with your expected numbers and venue.
